Deputy PM in Serbia's caretaker government Zorana Mihajlovic opened in Belgrade on May 26, 2016 a Serbia-United Arab Emirates business forum. It is part of the first-ever visit to Serbia by Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) representatives. Addressing the gathering, she noted it was "a new chapter in the two countries' cooperation in many areas." 

The World Bank has upgraded its 2017 GDP growth forecast for Serbia, leaving the 2016 forecast unchanged. According to the World Bank's Global Economic Prospects report, Serbia's GDP will rise by 1.8 percent in 2016 - which is equivalent to the January forecast - and by 2.3 percent in 2017 - 0.1 percentage points more compared to the January forecast. According to the latest forecast, 2018 will see Serbia's GDP grow by 3.5 percent, as already stated in the January report.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has upgraded its 2016 GDP growth forecast for Serbia to 2.5 percent from the 1.8 percent forecast in April this year. The international financial institution also expects inflation to reach 1.3 percent. The GDP growth forecast has now been revised upwards for the second time in just two months, as the April forecast had been raised from 0.05 percent.

An Air Serbia Airbus A330 plane took off from Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport at 08:08 CET on Thursday 23rd June 2016. And this marked the official start of direct flights from Belgrade to New York after nearly a quarter of a century. Air Serbia will be flying to New York five times a week.

Za sada, Air Srbia je jedina avio kompanija u regionu koja ima letove za Njujork.

Potpredsednica Vlade Srbije Zorana Mihajlović otvorila je u Beogradu, 26.maja 2016. godine, biznis forum Srbija-Ujedinjeni Arapski Emirati, u sklopu prve posete predstavnika Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) Srbiji.

Obraćajući se prisutnima, ona je istakla da je to "novo poglavlje u saradnji dve zemlje u mnogim oblastima.
